About the Edit black outline icon
A long pencil runs diagonally from the lower left to the upper right, its faceted tip and eraser end clearly defined, crossing the top-right corner of a square outline that deliberately breaks open where the pencil passes. The gap makes the writing action unmistakable, so it works as an edit or compose button in web apps, admin dashboards, note-taking and email clients, CMS toolbars and profile screens where users update saved details.
Construction is minimal: one square frame, one angled shaft with a short chisel point and a banded cap. The broken corner creates negative space that keeps the two shapes from colliding at small sizes. It pairs directly with delete, save and duplicate icons in the same action row, and stays crisp down to 16 px.
This is the black outline version of the edit icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.
