Edit Document black outline icon
Square document page with a pencil resting on its corner meaning edit
About the Edit Document black outline icon
A plain square sheet has its top right corner left open, and a long pencil with a sharpened tip and rounded end rests there as if mid-stroke. It is the common cue for edit, compose, rename or write. Use it on note taking apps, form fields, CMS and blog toolbars, file manager context menus and profile settings where a value can be changed.
The pencil sits at forty five degrees and interrupts the page outline, which separates the two objects without extra strokes. It pairs with delete, save and share marks in an action row. Keep the page square and at least 20px so the pencil tip stays sharp.
This is the black outline version of the edit document icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.
