Edit Button black outline icon
Pencil crossing the corner of an open square frame inside a circular button
About the Edit Button black outline icon
A sharpened pencil lies diagonally across the top right corner of a rounded square whose outline breaks to let the tool pass through, the pair centered in a thin circular frame. The broken corner is the standard cue for editing rather than drawing, so it maps to rename, update and compose actions. Use it on profile settings, CMS toolbars, note apps, table row controls and form fields that support inline changes.
The pencil shows a clear tip, ferrule band and body, angled at roughly 45 degrees so it balances the square's open corner. The enclosing circle turns it into a ready-made button target. It pairs with delete, save and share icons in the same circled family; at 16 px use the filled style so the pencil tip does not vanish.
This is the black outline version of the edit button icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.
