A rounded square sheet is drawn with its top right corner left open, and a long pencil points down into it as if starting a line of text. The pairing is the standard write or compose gesture: creating a post, drafting an article, leaving a review or editing a saved note. The pencil crosses the frame at a steady diagonal with a shaded tip and a clean cut nib, and the gap in the border keeps the two shapes from colliding. It sits naturally next to trash, save and share icons in a toolbar; at 16 px the nib detail thins out, so the filled style holds up better.
