About the Edit Text black filled icon
An angled pencil with a faceted body and pointed graphite tip rests against a sheet whose upper-right corner opens to admit it, and a single short stroke already marked on the page shows writing in progress. It conveys composing, correcting and revising copy. Use it in text editors, comment and reply boxes, rename dialogs, CMS drafts, note-taking apps and document review screens.
The pencil is drawn larger than the page to put emphasis on the act of writing rather than the document, which separates it from the plain edit action mark. Pair it with document, comment and spell-check icons, and keep the written stroke visible by staying above 20 px.
This is the solid black filled version of the edit text icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
Free for personal and commercial use with attribution.
