About the You Are Here Pointer black filled icon

A teardrop map pin holds a circular label reading YOU ARE HERE across three lines, and its tip rests on a flat diamond base plate that suggests the ground below. The written label removes any doubt about what the marker means, so it works on mall and campus directories, event floor plans, museum maps, transit station boards and printed visitor guides.

The pin is drawn head-on with a bold outer stroke and a concentric inner ring around the text, while the perspective base plate adds a sense of standing position. It pairs with map, compass and route icons in the library. Keep it at 64px or larger in print so the three text lines stay legible.

This is the solid black filled version of the you are here pointer icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
