About the Sigma black outline icon
A single filled uppercase Greek letter sigma fills the frame: a broad top bar, a sharp middle vertex pointing left and a wide base, drawn with slightly tapered serif-like terminals rather than plain geometric bars. It reads instantly as the summation operator and as the eighteenth letter of the Greek alphabet, which makes it useful in spreadsheet toolbars, calculator and math keyboards, statistics dashboards, fraternity and university material, and lecture slides.
The glyph is weighted like display type, with the upper arm thinner than the base so the form does not look top-heavy at small sizes.
