About the Settings Gear black filled icon
A single cogwheel with twelve squared teeth spaced evenly around the rim and a large plain circle cut through the middle. It is the standard mark for settings, preferences and system configuration, so it belongs in app toolbars, account menus, admin dashboards, device control panels and engineering or process slides.
The teeth are short relative to the body and the hollow center takes up roughly half the diameter, which keeps the silhouette light and stops it going muddy in a dense toolbar. It pairs with sliders, wrench and user profile icons. It reads cleanly from 16px up, and works well as a rotating loading mark.
This is the solid black filled version of the settings gear icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
