About the Settings black filled icon
A single gear is drawn face on with eight flat-topped teeth spaced evenly around the rim and a large open circle in the middle, leaving a fairly thin band of metal between hub and teeth. It is the standard mark for configuration, preferences and system control. Use it in app toolbars, account settings menus, admin dashboards, device control panels and maintenance or service sections of a website.
The wide inner circle gives the shape plenty of negative space, so it stays clean as a small toolbar glyph and can hold a second symbol if you build a compound badge. It matches sliders, toggle and wrench icons in a settings group. At 16 px use a slightly heavier stroke to keep the teeth from closing up.
This is the solid black filled version of the settings icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
