Scissor black filled icon
Icon of open scissors with crossed blades, center rivet and two oval finger loops
About the Scissor black filled icon
A pair of scissors stands upright with the blades crossed above a small pivot rivet and two large oval finger loops below. The shape is the universal sign for cutting, trimming and the cut command, so it suits toolbars in design and video editors, craft and DIY sections, barber and salon booking screens, coupon and voucher tear lines, and tailoring or stationery product pages.
The tall vertical composition puts most weight in the two rounded loops at the bottom, with slim tapering blades opening into a narrow V at the top. It sits well next to ruler, pencil and glue icons in the same tool set. Below 20px, prefer a version with a wider blade gap so the cross stays visible.
This is the solid black filled version of the scissor icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
