About the Quill black filled icon
A long feather quill slants down from the upper left and meets a document whose bottom edge curls into a scroll, with six ruled lines of writing filling the page. Together they stand for authorship, signing and record keeping, which suits blog editor toolbars, writer portfolios, terms and contract pages, publishing platforms and museum or history app sections.
The feather's barbs are drawn as short angled strokes against the plain page, so the two halves stay distinct even overlapped. The curled edges give the paper depth without shading. Use it alongside pen, book, inkwell and signature icons; at sizes under 32 px the ruled lines merge, so prefer it for headers and empty states.
This is the solid black filled version of the quill icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
