About the Pencil black filled icon
A single pencil lies on a 45-degree diagonal, drawn as a long straight barrel that ends in a rounded ferrule and eraser at the top right and narrows to a sharpened triangular point at the bottom left. It is the universal mark for editing, writing, note taking and sketching, which makes it right for edit buttons, text editors, form fields, design tool palettes and stationery or school supply listings.
The barrel is a clean parallelogram with two cross lines separating tip, body and eraser, so the silhouette stays readable with almost no interior detail. It sits naturally next to pen, ruler, eraser and brush icons in a tool set. At small sizes the tip facet can close up, so keep the stroke weight light at 16px.
