About the Map Location black filled icon
A classic teardrop map marker with a hollow circle cut into its upper half tapers to a point that touches an oval ground shadow beneath it, giving the pin a sense of standing on a surface. The grounded placement suits store locators, GPS and navigation apps, delivery tracking screens, travel and booking sites, and the address block on contact pages.
The circle is centered high in the balloon and the ellipse is drawn wide and flat, so the marker reads as dropped rather than floating. It pairs naturally with compass, route and globe icons in the navigation set. The thin shadow ellipse disappears below 24 px, so favor larger sizes or switch to a plain pin.
This is the solid black filled version of the map location icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
Download it free as a scalable SVG vector or transparent-background PNG in seven sizes (16 to 512px), copy the SVG code straight into your project, or open it in the free online editor to change colors, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, animate it, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
