Windsock extended from a tall pole with four tapering bands
About the Windsock black filled icon
A conical windsock hangs from a tall vertical mast, its open mouth ringed at the pole end and its body divided into four tapering bands that narrow toward the tip. Fully extended, it shows both wind direction and strength. Useful for weather dashboards, airport and airfield maps, flight training material, bridge and highway wind warnings, and outdoor sports apps.
The sock sits high on the pole with a long empty shaft below, leaving room for labels or a baseline in diagrams. It pairs with wind speed, compass, cloud and temperature icons. Keep it at 24 px or larger so the band divisions remain visible.
This is the solid black filled version of the windsock icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
