About the Variable Symbol black outline icon
A rounded browser or app window with a title bar, holding a pair of large curly braces that enclose an x character. Together they read as a declared variable, a code block or a mathematical unknown. Works well in developer tool interfaces, programming course pages, API and documentation sites, math or e-learning apps, and slides about algorithms and data types.
The braces are drawn with tall tapered curves and equal counter-space either side of the x, which sits centered like an algebraic term. The empty title bar keeps the frame neutral. It pairs with code brackets, terminal, function and database icons; give it a 4px inner margin so the braces do not touch the window edge.
This is the black outline version of the variable symbol icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
