It stands for back health, posture and skeletal anatomy, and fits chiropractic and physiotherapy sites, orthopedic clinic pages, medical school slides, health insurance forms and body-part pickers in symptom checker apps.

The composition is vertical and symmetrical, with equal spacing between the three segments, so it aligns well beside knee, skull and rib cage icons in an anatomy set. The inner joint lines are fine, so avoid using it below 24 px in dense medical lists.
