This icon draws a combination square: two straight rulers joined at a right angle, each arm carrying a row of evenly spaced tick marks of alternating length along its inner edge. It communicates measurement, precision, alignment and drafting work, making it a good fit for design tool sidebars, CAD and layout apps, carpentry or construction sites, engineering course materials and unit or grid settings panels.

The L silhouette fills the square canvas corner to corner, with the mitered inner joint keeping both arms visually equal in weight. It pairs well with pencil, protractor, compass and measuring tape icons in the library. At 16 px the individual graduations blur together, so prefer 24 px and up.
