About the Play black filled icon
A right-pointing triangle with softly rounded corners is drawn in outline and centered inside a thin circular ring, both at the same hairline weight. The all-outline treatment makes it read as an inactive or secondary control rather than a bold primary button. Use it on video player overlays, podcast and music apps, course lesson lists, media galleries and presentation slides that start a clip.
The triangle is optically centered — nudged slightly right of true center so it looks balanced inside the ring — and its rounded vertices echo the circle. Pair it with pause, stop, skip and volume icons from the same media set. At small sizes switch to the filled style, as the hollow triangle loses its silhouette below 20 px.
