About the Open Book black outline icon
Two page blocks fan outward from a central spine, their top and bottom edges curving inward like paper under tension, and the whole book rests on a flat rectangular cover that extends past the pages. It reads as reading, study, knowledge and documentation. Use it for e-book readers, course and e-learning platforms, library catalogs, help center navigation and dictionary or glossary sections.
The symmetry either side of the spine and the wide base give the shape a stable, almost landscape proportion that suits horizontal menus and tab bars. It sits well next to graduation cap, bookmark and notebook icons. The thin page curves need at least 24 px to stay distinct from the cover line.
This is the black outline version of the open book icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.
