A swimmer with a round head and an outstretched arm cuts across three stacked rows of wavy water lines, and a thick diagonal bar runs through the whole scene inside a heavy ring. It states a swimming ban, closed water, dangerous currents or a restricted beach. The waves fill the lower two thirds of the circle while the bather sits high left, so the slash crosses both figure and water and stays legible at a glance.
