The icon is a pair of eighth notes drawn as two oval note heads on upright stems, joined at the top by a wide slanted double beam that tilts upward to the right. It is the universal shorthand for sound, melody and playback. Use it for music player controls, playlist and podcast covers, ringtone and audio settings, concert or festival event listings and karaoke or band promo layouts.

Note heads are tilted ovals and the stems are drawn thin so the heavy angled beam carries most of the visual weight, which keeps the mark legible at favicon size. It pairs with headphone, speaker, microphone and equalizer icons across the library. At very small sizes use the filled style so the note heads do not read as empty rings.
