An oval speech balloon with a small tail at the lower left holds three evenly spaced dots, the universal sign that someone is typing or that a conversation is waiting. Use it for chat threads and messengers, unread message badges, comment buttons on blogs and shops, contact and support screens, or an announcement banner inside a product tour.

The bubble is wide and elliptical rather than boxy, and the three dots are drawn as hollow rings, which keeps the center open and light. It sits well beside envelope, phone and bell icons in a contact row; switch the dots to solid if you need it under 20 px.

This is the solid black filled version of the message icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
