The intestine is simplified into four wide horizontal loops stacked one above another, joined at alternating sides and opening into two short vertical tubes at the top and bottom. Each loop is a rounded rectangle of even thickness with an inner line running through it, so the coil reads as a hollow tube rather than a flat ribbon.
