A circle at the top connects downward to a diamond, which splits left and right into two square nodes. That circle-diamond-box sequence is the standard notation for a start step, a decision point and its two outcomes. Use it in project management dashboards, process documentation, automation builders, business strategy slides and onboarding diagrams that explain branching logic.

The layout is symmetrical around a central axis, with equal-length connectors and uniform stroke weight so the branch reads clearly. It works alongside sitemap, hierarchy and mind map icons in the diagram set. At small sizes the diamond is the recognizable part, so keep its corners sharp rather than rounded.
