About the Film Editing Scissors black outline icon

A pair of open scissors crosses the left edge of a film strip panel that carries perforation holes along its top and bottom bars and a triangular play button in the center. Together the two elements read instantly as cutting footage rather than simply watching it, which makes the mark useful for video editor toolbars, trim and split buttons, film school course cards, post-production service pages and media app onboarding screens.

The composition sets a diagonal scissor shape against the horizontal rectangle of the strip, so the blades break the frame and create a clear focal crossing point. Uniform stroke weight lets it sit beside camera, clapperboard and timeline marks in the same set. Because the sprocket holes are small, use it at 32 px or larger so the strip stays readable.

This is the black outline version of the film editing scissors icon: even, monoline strokes that stay crisp at small sizes and suit clean, minimal interfaces, wireframes and light backgrounds.

It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
