About the Code black filled icon
A left and right angle bracket face outward from a long slash that leans across the middle, forming the familiar closing-tag shorthand developers read as source code. It stands for programming, markup and software work, and suits developer portfolios, documentation sites, IDE and terminal toolbars, embed or view-source buttons, and API and hackathon landing pages.
The three strokes are open and widely spaced, with the slash running corner to corner so the negative space does the work. It pairs with terminal, branch, bug and database icons across the library. At small sizes, reduce the gap between bracket and slash so the group still reads as one mark.
This is the solid black filled version of the code icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
