Close black filled icon
Rounded square button with a bold X mark for closing or canceling
About the Close black filled icon
A rounded-corner square outline framing a thick diagonal X that spans nearly the full width of the shape. It signals cancel, dismiss, or exit, and is a natural fit for modal dialogs, notification banners, toolbars, form fields, and mobile app headers.
The even stroke weight and generous padding keep the X legible at small sizes, with the square's corner radius echoing the angle where the X's strokes cross. It pairs with checkmark and cancel-circle icons in the library; keep the tap target at least 24px for touch interfaces.
This is the solid black filled version of the close icon: a bold silhouette that reads clearly at 16-24 px and on dark or busy backgrounds, and prints well in one colour.
It downloads free as an SVG vector or transparent PNG in seven sizes, and the free online editor lets you recolor it, apply gold, silver, neon and gradient styles, add animation, or convert it to EPS, PDF and DXF.
