About the Broken Gear black outline icon
An eight-tooth cogwheel with a wide inner ring, split by a jagged fracture that runs from a tooth on the upper right down through the hub and out through the lower left teeth, leaving the outline visibly misaligned. It stands for mechanical failure and system faults in error pages, maintenance dashboards, repair service sites, manufacturing reports and technical support flows.
Squared teeth and a large open center keep the shape simple, so the zigzag crack stays the loudest detail rather than competing with the gear itself. Use it next to working gear, wrench and warning triangle icons from the same set, and give it at least 24 px so the break is unmistakable.
